Mixed recycling - only these items clean and loose

No - paper & cardboard (use paper box), plastic bags or liners, cling film, sweet or biscuit wrappers, plant pots, toys, china, household glassware, polystyrene, pet food pouches, electrical items*, takeaway cups, coat hangers and general waste.

Paper and cardboard recycling - only these items clean and loose

  • books
  • newspapers & magazines

No - waxed or laminated paper, plastic bags or liners, cartons (use mixed recycling bin), takeaway cups, and shredded paper

Food recycling - only these items - line your caddy with plastic bags, compostable liners or newspaper

  • any food: raw, cooked, burnt, mouldy or out of date
  • peelings
  • plate scrapings
  • tea bags & coffee grounds
  • pet food
  • bones, shells and skins

No - non-food items, oil or fats, hard plastic packaging

Garden recycling - only these items loose

  • grass cuttings
  • plants & flowers
  • leaves
  • tree & hedge trimmings
  • weeds (non - noxious)
  • small branches

No - turf*, soil*, stones*, compostable liners, food, pet bedding & litter, plant pots, noxious weeds

Textiles recycling - place in red textile sacks on top of your mixed recycling bin or bag*

No - wet or soiled clothing, slippers, single shoes, duvets, pillows, sleeping bags

General waste

No - batteries, garden waste, soil*, turf*, electrical appliances*, building materials*, car parts* and sharps**

Service provisions

We only collect bins with lids shut flat

If your bin / bag contains items we cannot recycle, we will not empty it

Bins / bags must be presented at the boundary of your property by 7am (unless an agreed alternative is in place)

If we decide your household is unsuitable for wheeled bins, we will supply purple general waste sacks and reusable bags for recycling
