Sustainability
Chiltern District Council is committed to sustainable development and is working hard to ensure that sustainable principles are embedded into all of the Councils activities. The Council made a public commitment and signed a Declaration on Climate Change in 2007. Since that time the Council has developed a comprehensive climate change strategy, designed a programme of energy and resource optimisation measures, adopted a sustainable procurement policy, worked in partnership with our leisure providers to improve energy efficiency, developed a green travel plan and supported our community and transition town groups achieve their own sustainability goals.
