Chiltern Heritage Trail - Hampden Route (Red Route)

The Chiltern Heritage Cycling Trail is the District Councils Millennium project. The trail (divided into three loops) links the Districts two
towns and fourteen parishes and visits many of the areas picturesque villages and places of historic interest.

The Hampden route based towards the North West of the District covers some of the areas most scenic spots including the two
Missenden villages and The Lee (home to the Liberty family).

Chiltern Heritage Trail - Harding Route (Yellow Route)

The Chiltern Heritage Cycling Trail is the District Councils Millennium project. The trail (divided into three loops) links the Districts two
towns and fourteen parishes and visits many of the areas picturesque villages and places of historic interest.

The Harding route based towards the North East of the district is so called because of the areas connection with the martyr Thomas
Harding who was burnt at the stake in 1532 for possessing a Bible when this was still forbidden. Seven years later Henry VIII ordered
Bibles in English to be placed in

Chiltern Heritage Trail - Milton Route (Green Route)

The Chiltern Heritage Cycling Trail is the District Councils Millennium project.

The trail (divided into three loops) links the Districts two
towns and fourteen parishes and visits many of the areas picturesque villages and places of historic interest.

The Milton route based towards the South of the District is so named because of the areas connection to the famous author and
parliamentarian John Milton. Based in Chalfont St Giles during the Great Plague, this is where Milton wrote his epic poem �Paradise
Lost� and the sequel �Paradise Regained�.
