How does pay by phone work?
Once registered parking couldn't be easier, no hunting for machines, no more pockets full of change, no tickets to display, text reminders and the ability to Extend your parking by phone. Once you have parked you simply call the information number and follow the instructions. It is highly recommended you register via the internet at the Verrus website. You will be asked to create a simple account giving such details as a credit or Debit card number and your vehicle registration number. You will then be able to park in any Chiltern District Council car park and pay by phone.
How much does the service cost to use?
- A service charge of 20p will be added to your normal parking fee of £2 or more.
- A service charge of 10p will be added to your normal parking fee of less than £2.
- Text reminders cost 10p each.
- A receipt for your parking can be sent to you by either text or email.
- There is a charge of 10p for the text message receipt.
- The email receipt is free of charge.
Your parking costs will appear on your monthly credit/debit card statement.
You can view and print off all of your parking transactions at your on line account.
Log in using your mobile phone number (your account number) and your PIN number (which you created when you registered or the last 4 digits of your credit card number if you did not create a pin)
How will the Civil Enforcement Officers know I have paid to park?
Civil Enforcement Officers use hand-held computers that allow them to access the Pay by Phone system and view the vehicle registration numbers of all customers that have paid by phone at the parking location.
When you phone to pay it is very important that you listen to the whole of the voice message and press 1 to confirm when prompted and you will receive confirmation that your payment has been processed.
If you hang up before this part of the message and do not press 1, your transaction will not be processed. This means that your car registration number will not appear as having paid on the parking attendant's hand-held device and you may receive a penalty charge notice. When you pay by text message, confirmation is usually sent within 5 minutes.

How can I find out how much I have spent and get a receipt?
Log in to manage your parking account on the internet at Verrus website . You can view transactions, print receipts, change your card payment details and even remove or add other cars to your account. You can have more than one vehicle registered to your account number.
Is my information safe on the payment system and website?
The website is safe and secure. Information held on the website is covered by the Data Protection Act and cannot be shared with other people without your knowledge and agreement. Only you can access your own account information, using your account number which is your mobile phone number and a secret PIN (personal identification number) or the last 4 digits of your credit card number (if you did not create a PIN) The PIN can be changed when you log in.
