Shaping the future of Chiltern District to 2026 Chiltern District Council's Draft Core Strategy

11th March to 23rd April 2010

This consultation is now closed

The Government requires this Council to find and identify land for 2,900 homes in Chiltern District for the period 2006 up to 2026. This process is part of the "Core Strategy" which will become a key document of the "New Local Development Framework" which will replace our current Chiltern Local Plan. This document sets out how we expect to achieve that, whilst at the same time protecting the Green Belt.

Now we are asking you, local residents and businesses, for your comments. We would very much welcome your thoughts, whether you live in our towns, villages or countryside, so we can obtain balanced views from across the whole district.

Please Note: When submitting your comments on the Chiltern Draft Core Strategy (by whichever method), you must supply your Name, Postal Address and Post Code for your comments to be processed and taken into account.

If you are a resident or own a business within the District, a summary leaflet and questionnaire notifying you of this public consultation will also be sent to your house separately.

You can submit your comments online via the Chiltern Consultation Portal .

You can email your response to us at planningpolicy@chiltern.gov.uk .

The leaflet which has been sent to every household and business in the District contains a Response Form which can be returned by using the Freepost envelope enclosed. Without the Freepost envelope all other representations by post should be sent to the following address:

Planning Policy Team, Chiltern District Council, Council Offices, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW.

Data Protection

Chiltern District Council is the data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Your completed response form containing your comments and personal information will be published on the council's website - http://www.chiltern.gov.uk/ - and can be viewed at the Council Offices, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks during normal working hours.

Sustainability Appraisal

Sustainability Appraisal is a process used to appraise the social, environmental and economic effects of the Core Strategy from the outset of its production. The aim of the Sustainability Appraisal is to help ensure that decisions made throughout the various stages in the production of the Core Strategy contribute to it achieving the aims of sustainable development. The sustainability appraisal process is therefore used to inform decision making and to demonstrate that the Core Strategy contains the most appropriate options for development when considered against all reasonable alternatives.

Comments on the Preliminary Sustainability Appraisal (June 2009) and its Update (March 2010) are also sought . These documents can be accessed via the links below.

Please return your responses by 5pm on 23 April 2010. Please note responses received after this date will not be considered.
