Neighbourhood Policing is a local service to improve 'quality of life' by working with communities, targeting the issues that the public identify as those that matter.


Neighbourhood Policing is based on local priorities identified by local communities as the issues that need to be dealt with in their area and public services like the Council will be working with

Neighbourhoods will be rolled out during 2006 and 2007 and all Neighbourhoods will be up and running by March 2008.

A neighbourhood is usually a geographic area which is of a size that best serves the needs of local communities reflecting the people that live within it. Chiltern has 12 neighbourhoods, each contains a number of parishes and wards. A map showing the Neighbourhoods in Chiltern District can be downloaded. The neighbourhoods are clustered together to form 8 Neighbourhood Action Groups (NAGs).

Each Neighbourhood has a dedicated Police Team containing Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), Special Constables and volunteers all working with public agencies and the community.
