The Council has published its Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Register Application Form. More details are provided here.



Planning Portal & Planning Aid

For general advice about whether specific works to your house require planning permission, please use the interactive house at the Planning Portal (Opens in a new window) to check. In some cases, Permitted Development rights may have been removed from your property, either by planning condition or as the result of an Article 4 direction. As a result, you may require planning permission from the Council. You can check the history of your property online and at the Council Offices.


Planning Aid England supports communities and individuals to engage in the planning system. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to get involved planning their local area, and provide people with the knowledge and tools to do this.
