Equality Impact Assessments

As part of its long-standing commitment to Equalities, the Council undertakes assessments of the impact of its services on all sections of the community. Part of the purpose is to assess whether there are any barriers to accessing our services, to plan to remove those barriers, and to deliver those plans.

We are currently updating our 'baseline' Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) for all services, on a rolling programme. In addition we undertake an EIA whenever a change to policy is proposed, to ensure the equalities implications of those changes is included in the consideration of the proposed change.
