Preventing vehicle crime during the World Cup
Motorists across Chiltern are being urged to keep valuables out of sight during the World Cup this summer.
With so many vehicles expected to fill pub car parks across the district during the tournament, it presents an ideal opportunity for would-be thieves to strike. Sat-navs, laptops, money, bags, and mobile phones are most commonly left on view in cars and the Chiltern and South Bucks District Council's Community Safety team want to encourage residents to remove valuable items from their cars to help ensure that vehicle crime remains low.
Taking a few basic steps, such as, removing valuables from view, always ensuring your windows are shut and leaving your car locked in a visible location can be enough to deter a thief. Remember: Remove it or lose it.
