Have your say on Chalfont St Giles' Draft Neighbourhood Plan

Residents of Chalfont St Giles are being asked to have their say on the draft Neighbourhood Plan produced by Chalfont St Giles Parish Council.

The Plan will help guide development in its area and contains policies covering parish wide issues and policies related to specific subject areas, including housing, community facilities, economy, green spaces (including biodiversity and better routes), historic environment, high quality design and planning contributions. The policies aim to deliver the plans overall vision and its objectives.

The six-week consultation started on Monday 26th February 2018 and runs until 5pm on Monday 9th April 2018. Chiltern District Council is inviting written representations from local people, businesses, landowners and interested parties so that their views can be taken into account.

The draft Plan and supporting documents can be downloaded from the Planning Policy pages or can be viewed at the Council Office in Amersham, Chalfont St Giles Community Library and also in the Jordans Village Shop during normal opening hours.

After the public consultation the draft Plan will be submitted to an independent examiner, where it will be considered, along with the consultation responses received. Subject to the outcomes of that examination, a local referendum will take place to decide whether the Plan should be brought into effect.

If more than 50% of those who vote support the Neighbourhood Plan it will form part of the statutory development plan for the area, and it will have to be used by the Council to assess and make decisions on planning applications within the Chalfont St Giles neighbourhood area.
