Mixed recycling (red bin) - only these items clean and loose

  • milk, juice and soup cartons

No - paper & cardboard (use paper box), plastic bags or liners, cling film, sweet or biscuit wrappers, plant pots, toys, china, household glassware, polystyrene, pet food pouches, electrical items*, takeaway cups, coat hangers and general waste.

Paper and cardboard recycling (blue bin) - only these items clean and loose   

  • paper
  • cardboard
  • kitchen / toilet roll tubes
  • cardboard egg boxes
  • envelopes
  • books
  • newspapers & magazines

No - waxed or laminated paper, plastic bags or liners, cartons (use mixed recycling bin), takeaway cups, and shredded paper

General waste (grey / black bin)

  • Items that cannot be recycled

No - batteries, garden waste, soil*, turf*, electrical appliances*, building materials*, car parts* and sharps**

Service provisions

We only collect bins with lids shut flat

If your bin / bag contains items we cannot recycle, we will not empty it
