Black sack collection areas
If you are not in the twin bin scheme area, you will have a weekly black sack collection.
We will not empty black sacks from wheelie bins due to health and safety, however residents can purchase standard dustbins to present their refuse on collection day. Black sacks must be presented securely tied and not so heavy the bags may split when lifted, otherwise they may not be taken. Please make sure broken glass is securely wrapped in your black bag.
WE DO NOT collect garden waste as part of your domestic collection and black sacks containing garden waste will not be collected.
Alternatively, you can buy a home composter for all your kitchen and garden waste. These can be bought at a subsidised rate by phoning 08445 71 44 44 or online. Garden waste can also be taken to your local Household Waste and Recycling Centres for composting for free.
