Waste collections and calendars

Depending on where you live in Chiltern you will either receive a

or

All properties will receive a fortnightly paper and cardboard recycling collection and a four weekly mixed glass collection.

All cans and plastic bottles, as well as foil, shoes, books and textiles can be recycled at any of our recycling centres. We also have two Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRC's) in Chiltern where you can recycle many more materials like wood, electrical equipment and appliances, plasterboard and batteries.

Please place all items to be collected on your boundary (where your property meets the pavement) by 7AM on your collection day.

If you are physically unable to place your waste on your boundary, you may be eligible for our assisted service for the disabled and the elderly. Please get in contact with us to organise this.

Find your waste collection day

Missed bin

If you believe your refuse or recycling has been missed, please report it to us by 4pm on collection day and we will come back the next working day to collect it

Please note that you must report a missed collection within five working days from the scheduled day of collection. After this time we are unable to return due to operational restraints.

Dispose of your waste correctly

If you pay someone to take away your waste you should always check that they have a waste carrier license. You can check by contacting the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506 (Mon - Fri, 8am - 6pm). Until your items are taken to a landfill site or a recycling centre they are your responsibility. You could be fined £5,000 if they are illegally dumped.

Commercial Waste

At present we do not operate a commercial waste collection service. There are a number of private waste and recycling contractors that offer this service. Look in the local telephone directory or search online to find a local contractor
