Chiltern boasts some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, with a host of historically- interesting attractions - and there's no better way to see it than by bike. Choose from loads of dedicated cycle routes, and travel at your own pace.  (See the Tips for Safe Cycling section to get the most of our your cycle ride).

Breeze Bike Rides in Your Area

British Cycling has a range of free guided ride opportunities across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.

Working in partnership with Milton Keynes Council to deliver Sky Ride Local free guided bike rides with British Cycling trained Ride Leaders.

Breeze is the biggest programme ever to get more women into riding  bikes for fun.  Our aim is to help thousands more women feel confident and comfortable about going on a ride.

Ride Social is about regularly connecting people to have fun on a ride.  Find a ride, find people to ride with.

Breeze MPU

Saturday 24 September at 2.00pm

Breeze to Hyde Heath - 5 miles This easy going bike ride is ideal for building confidence for all abilities and ages. This gentle route takes us from Amersham to Hyde Heath and back. The route is mainly flat and is ideal for families and anyone looking to boost their confidence on a bike. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider and always wait so that no one is left behind.

Saturday 8 October at 9.30am

Amersham, Chess Valley and Pednor Loop - 17 miles We will head off to Little Chalfont and ride around the Chess Valley, Chesham and back via Hyde Heath. Coffee and cake stop en route. (17 miles)

Cycling is a sport anyone can enjoy - irrespective of age or fitness level. It's also a great way to see the beautiful Chiltern countryside and meet new friends. See what's on offer with Cycle Chilterns:

Chiltern Heritage Trail

The Chiltern Heritage Cycle Trail links the historic towns and parishes of the Chiltern District. The Chiltern Heritage Trail is a scenic cycle route around the Chiltern District.

The routes have been divided into a series of sections linking the Districts' two towns and fourteen parishes and include some of the areas most popular tourist attractions and places of historic interest.

The Districts' cycle route, has been divided into three loops each covering approximately 25 miles. The routes are quite distinct in terms of scenery and character and each loop is named after a famous historical figure linked to the District -

Whether you are an experienced cyclist or a novice the routes have been carefully designed with the whole family in mind. Two of the routes include family friendly sections and designated cycle paths have been highlighted. Each loop is clearly illustrated and described in a full colour leaflet (downloadable above).


The Chilterns Cycleway is a 170 mile circular cycle route through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, taking in the best of Chilterns scenery. The route is mainly on-road and is signposted throughout.
