Milton's Cottage
Milton's Cottage
This picturesque late 16th century Grade 1 listed cottage, set in an attractive garden, is the only surviving building in which the famous writer and parliamentarian lived.
Milton came to the cottage in 1665 to escape the plague in London and it was here that he completed Paradise Lost and started Paradise Regained.
The museum contains many exhibits of his work, life and times.
