Homeswapper
If you are an existing tenant with a Registered Social Landlord in Chiltern (i.e. a housing association such as Paradigm Housing), then you may be able to swap properties with a tenant locally or in another part of the country. The Homeswapper scheme aims to match up tenants from different areas and help them to exchange properties. Available properties are advertised on the Home Swapper website.
Housing Registers
If you want a tenancy with a Council or Registered Provider (Housing Association) elsewhere in the country, you can apply to the local Council to go onto its Housing Register. However, extra priority is usually given to people who have a local connection to the area. Therefore, you may find that you are not a high priority for re-housing via the Housing Register and may want to look at alternatives such as private renting.
