Local traders are gearing up for seasonal shoppers, so everything on your Christmas wish-list could be closer to home than you think.
Various events in towns and villages across the District will be getting the festive fun underway, and Small Business Saturday on 3 December is being promoted to remind shoppers how important the small, independent businesses are to local communities - and of the great range of goods they offer.

Small Business Saturday 3rd December, day time
Businesses and retailers in the village high street and Households are preparing for Christmas in a best dressed window contest being voted for by the children from village schools and nurseries.
Adults can also vote for their favourite window on a form available from the library, from the shops taking part and on the Parish Council web site www.chalfontstgiles-pc.gov.uk
Voting begins on the 26 November when the Christmas lights are switched on in the village high street. Voting closes on Friday 16 December.
The Parish Council have arranged for free parking days on 3, 17 and 24 December.
A magical Christmas evening in Old Amersham - Friday 2 December evening
The Old Amersham Business Association presents a unique and magical evening along its historic pavements. Come celebrate in festive style and enjoy the very best of what the old town can offer with its award winning restaurants, eateries and pubs. Visit the diverse mix of independent retailers with their gorgeously dressed windows, listen to Amersham's newest community choir, and of course visit Father Christmas.
Christmas fun night in Chalfont St Peter - Friday 2 December evening
Late night shopping, school carol singing, Chalfont Wind Band and the Accord Choir; charity stalls and kiddies fun rides. All for local causes.
Small Business Saturday - Saturday 3 December all day
Everything on your Christmas wish-list could be closer to home than you think.
Small Business Saturday is a great moment for everyone to celebrate the best of British. This annual event is part of a national campaign to highlight small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local'.
Look out for the special blue and white signs in your village high street and remember to shop local. Car parking in some Chiltern District Council car parks is free all day.
Amersham Christmas Showcase - Saturday 3 December - all day
Amersham Action Group's fabulous festival of fun on Small Business Saturday in Amersham on the Hill. Father Christmas, Kids play zones, local musicians & performers, street food, a special Christmas market. All fund raising for the Rennie Grove Hospice and Street Kids Direct (Radio Christmas).

Radio Christmas 87.7 FM
Our local radio station is broadcasting from 1 to 24 December. It's a charity radio station run entirely by volunteers. You can tune in if you live from Amersham, Little Chalfont parts of Chesham and the Chalfonts. While it cannot guarantee the FM coverage, previously it has reached as far as Chorleywood and High Wycombe.
